Complacent Ammo/Primer Shopper?

Previously having a decent stock of 22lr ammo and pistol primers I didn't pay much attention to the current shortages.  Now I'm getting a little concerned that I won't be able restock on these items and continue to do the same amount of shooting as before.  I still have plenty of powder and cases.  Projectile supply is decent as well especially considering that I'm now making much of what I use.  So how do I become one of those savvy ammo and primer shoppers?  Every time I see one of the ammo alerts posted here it's gone before I have a chance to take advantage of it.

The time lag via checking here and current availability is a stumbling block.

Be patient, be diligent, create accounts to help speed up purchases. And if there is a limit per order, you can make multiple orders as the ordering software may not be that sophisticated to know you made a previous order of the same item.

Put the word out among your local clubs. There has been a fair bit of trading amongst local shooters near me.

22 LR is stating to show up on Ammoseek and the prices have been falling, although the selection is limited.  Run of the mine stuff is there but quality ammo is either scarce or pricey.

If you like CCI, their own web site puts ammo up every few days, limited to a brick.  Also Federal (same company as CCI)....

I realize 22 ammo is slowly starting to come back.  Has anyone been able to buy primers from a retailer?

Auctions usually have it, might be expensive but they have it. Since they usually won't ship, you're bidding against a smaller pool.

Re' the CCI factory site - whilst the system does limit you to one brick "per purchase". There does not actually seem to be any limit to how manty times you can repeat the "purchase" (it works - don't ask me how I know ).

So it is quite possible to buy, say, a case in total, if you are willing to pay the price including shipping for each brick. There is even an opportunity to get free shipping if you are interested in buying another product together in each "purchase". Mini-mags and other types have been available from time to time (just don't shoot them in your Pardini!!!).

Primers are a different story. Be polite with older/retiring shooters who might be willing to let go some of their "stash", pay their asking price and don't dicker!
