I have a LOT of wrinkly imperfect bullets. The caster is making good on replacing them so no need for details. The question is how true is the ‘lubed rocks will clean targets at 25 yards’ statement that I’ve seen referenced many times. I only use these for the short line or indoors. Good to go?

What is wrinkled and how bad?  A picture would be nice.  The key is the base.  If that is un wrinkled, there’s a chance they will be fine.  They’re always good for training.

They will be fine on the short line. You might even be surprised on the long line. I've had some pretty ugly bullets shoot great at 25. Go for it!

I had a few hundred cast 185 SWC with incomplete bases.  Base edges were 1/2 rounded, 1/2 complete filled.  They still would clean T&R targets.

When loading bullets with incomplete bases, one must be very cognizant of possible set back.  So case expansion (especially!!!), seating and crimping must account for bullet defects.

Tested them at Canton. They will clean at 25 yrds but they do group larger than nicely cast bullets by the same maker. Thanks for the input.
