Looking at revolvers still. The S&W 14 is pretty well known for accuracy but I really prefer the look of the the full lug models that were 14-5/6 only I believe, also think I'd like the extra weight. Will later ones like these still be as accurate as the older ones. Triggers still be as good? They definitely command a premium and are about a grand versus $600-$800 for a regular quality 15.

A 586 might be a good option if you like the full lug. Trigger in mine is excellent.

Yeah I've been looking at them too. Does the 357 mag chamber cost you any accuracy when shooting full wadcutters?

I have not really shot much in the way of full wadcutters in mine, but the hundred or so I have, shot well. I typically have been shooting DR loads.
The only thing I would change on mine is the front sight, mine is the ramped orange one, I would prefer the style that is more typical of the 14's

Yes, the full lug 14's were as accurate as the earlier guns.

My 14-5 I bought new in 1992 was one of the most accurate guns I ever owned or shot. Sold it about two years ago. I just didn't shoot it much anymore.

I have a 14-1 and a 14-5 and the groups are exactly the same!

Good information ! A member just mentioned about his new 14-5 to me and upon research, I found out about the full underlug.
