38 Super Barrels

My 38 super has a non ramped Kart barrel in it. 1:16 twist. I like what I hear about the results with the 1:10 twist shooting the 147gr lead bullets. Originally the only 1:10 barrel I could find is a Clark. All they make are ramped barrels except for their 45 barrels. Once my pistol is fitted with the ramped barrel I don't have the option to go back to my 1:16. I did find a company that makes a non ramped 1:10 38 super barrel but I don't know anything about them. Anyone know anything about the quality of Fusion Firearms match barrels?

I like Fusion barrels. I have a 38 Super W/N ramped and a 400 Corbon not ramped. I am using the Fusion in my RO but the 400 is sitting in a bin waiting for WW3. Good quality, good groups. I ordered the 400 as a drop in and it did. The Super barrel needed some fitting.

KC milled the ramp off my Clark - that's an option.

Clark will turn the ramp off of a barrel you order if you ask them to.

KKM also makes non ramped Super barrels in 1-10

I appreciate the advice guys. I've decided to go with the KKM barrel. I ordered one today. They are definitely proud of them. Is there a prefered bushing for a 38 super?

Damn, when I tried to order a 1:10 KKM talked me out of it for a 1:16. Oh well, married to it now.

I talked to kkm about the 1:10 twist specifically. They said at normal velocities they didn’t shoot well. At slower velocities they shot well. They said they weren’t interested in making the 10 twist barrels. A few months later when placing a barrel order I brought it up again and they said they would make them with no guarantees. My next upcoming 38 special build is going to be kkm 10 twist. I’ll stick my neck out.

1-16 shoots just fine in the Super.. All our 38 super wad guns have 1-16  Kart and KKM.

Greetings, looking to replace the factory Colt barrel in my 1978 MKIV. In finding this thread and then researching KKM barrels, does 0.355 mean .38 Super to KKM? The term "38 super" does not appear on their site that I could find.

yes their .355 barrel will work for both a 9mm and 38 super.. it is very short chambered from the factory.. good stuff

You get what you pay for... they have treated me very well with custom barrel configurations for no additional cost. Great customer service as well. They are my preferred supplier.

I will not buy a barrel from anyone but KKM. Worth the wait. Customer service is excellent. They have done lots of cool custom stuff for me.

I put a 1:13 kkm in a new colt a few months back. This was the ransom rest target at 50 yards. Left right great, up/down had some issues... I feel it was just a bit too hard fit and wasn't quite going into full battery. Even so the group is only a little over 2 inches vertical. the owner is more of an action guy, so he wanted to take it and run 500 rds through it to see how it ran. Then I'll re-ransom rest it.
