Im curious as those that have 2 different loads for long line and short line.  I guess the biggest question is using JHP for long line and maybe lead swc for short line.  Do you have any issues going from jacketed to lead?  If you have 2 loads I assume you’re using the same powder?  Do you try to keep charges close to the same?  Obviously not having to change springs is a big plus.

Would love to hear from those that do this and how they go about doing it.

Thanks a bunch

Same powder, same springs, different charges. (N310, 3.9 gn w/185 SWCHP, 4.5 w/jacketed HP).

I use lead (for now) on both lines.  For the long line I took a known load and worked it up and down for my gun. I landed on 4.4gr BE w/200gr Magnus SWC.  Pretty much the same thing for the less critical short line.  Had to throw function in the mix since I was trying to down load.  Landed on 3.5gr BE w/185gr Magnus SWP-HP.  This works for me ... for now anyway Smile

You didn't mention what sights you were using and that will all come in to play.  With a dot you could actually adjust it up or down between lines if you wanted to use the same load.

Lablover,
I pretty sure this topic was already discussed and some of the posts were very interesting.
