More than one pistol
Is there a rule against using one pistol for the long line and another one for the short line? Example Pardini .32 ACP long line and Hammerlli 32 Wadcutter for the short line?

Re: More than one pistol
If you shoot your third slow fire with your 32 ACP you will have to continue in the following timed and rapid. Then you can change. You can't change in the middle of the national match course.

When it breaks it’s out of service for the remainder of that match.

Anytime one breaks and is declared disabled. The range officer may need to approve.
You can't change back though .
Re: More than one pistol
To be specific, once a pistol is declared disabled, it can be returned and used in the tournament, but it cannot be exchanged for the gun being currently shot in the ongoing match (when it is repaired and available). The shooter will need to complete the current match before changing guns again, unless the gun currently being used becomes disabled.

Re: More than one pistol
Can be, especially when its a broken extractor or ejector. If its just the ammo, then the shooter keeps eating alibis until the shooter becomes a better reloader.

Re: More than one pistol
I always understood each 900 to be 4 individual matches. 50 yard SF match, national match course, timed fire match, rapid fire match. Weapons can be changed between matches at the shooter's discretion, but only replaced within a match or stage if they are disabled.
9. COMPETITION REGULATIONS
9.1 Changing Pistols - Competitors are to use the same pistol during single stage matches, i.e., Slow Fire, Timed Fire, Rapid Fire and NMC (a single match). If a pistol becomes disabled at any time and is designated as such by the Chief Range Officer, all shots fired up to the time the claim is made will stand as part of the official score. Any disabled claim must be made immediately. The exchange of barrels, detachable weights etc. shall not be restricted. (For timed and rapid fire see rules 9.5, 10.9, and 10.10.)

Re: More than one pistol
That is exactly what and how I read the rule! I think a competitor can shoot one pistol for the long line then change it out for the short line

Re: More than one pistol
Unless you are n the NMC where you can't change after the slow fire stage.
Hmmm my local time is 6:25, why does the above post show today at 7:13? Yeah, l know it's 5 o'clock somewhere...

Re: More than one pistol
Except the way your are saying it is incorrect, you can't shoot the NMC Slow Fire target with one gun then switch to a different gun for the NMC Timed & Rapid targets because those 3 targets are considered one match. You have to switch either before or after the NMC match.James Hensler wrote:That is exactly what and how I read the rule! Re: More than one pistol
But, you could possibly declare it disabled after the SF stage of the NMC and complete it and the subsequent matches with your back up gun.
It's called "gaming the system"
You just have to convince the CRO it's disabled.

You can do that... once or twice. That isn't a good long term strategy.james r chapman wrote:But, you could possibly declare it disabled after the SF stage of the NMC and complete it and the subsequent matches with your back up gun.
