I was given the opportunity to shoot an older once this past year. Was an incredible gun. How ever I don't think I'd ever have the coin for one. But still - dang fine pistol.

Heard they were changing the way the barrel locks up to a less labor intensive system..... I'm skeptical.

The older ones I've handled didn't seem like they would make trigger weight. The supply of spare parts has kept me away. 

A fitted 9mm 1911 is a good option. I think the best option is still a match 45 that you shoot in CF and 45 as well as EICs.
