I think most of the new Conversions have recoil buffers

The older Marvels (like mine) were/are a balancing act between not recoiling too hard (Alu alloy/steel metal to metal contact) and functioning. - A weaker recoil spring worked better, but wasn't good for that alloy slide banging into the frame.

I modified a regular 1911 shok buff to use in the old Marvel. It (the "U") stays in place -thousands of rounds & still going - and I use a lighter (stock S&W 41) recoil spring. The set up runs great. Recoil is a bump instead of a whack. I do not have a more reliable 22.
2¢ - YMMV

PS: my 2 personal best 22 match scores (outdoors/50 yards) are with it & CCIsv. - Using a stock, very short, black Mil-spec trigger- very tip of finger on trigger.   -

My Marvel conversion bought late summer came with no recoil buffer like on my Nelson, no failures due to recoil.

It’s the same rubber as an engine mount. So it’s all you can chew
